Suspect a Disability?
The Community Schools of Frankfort (CSF) is responsible for locating, identifying and evaluating all students between the ages of 3, but less than 22 years of age with a suspected disability who reside within the district boundaries. CSF must provide a Free & Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) to all children, including those who meet eligibility in accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) & Article 7.
Children who are determined eligible for special education & related services are provided those services at no cost.
If you suspect your child has a disability, please contact the classroom teacher, building counselor, or administrator at your child's school to discuss the options available to best meet your child's needs. Options may include interventions through our Response to Instruction process or an evaluation by a multi-disciplinary team. Depending on the suspected disability, possible members of the multi-disciplinary team include the school psychologist, speech-language pathologist, general education teacher, special education teacher, occupational therapist, physical therapist, nurse, and counselor.
