November Hot Dog Highlight

Frankfort High School is the only school in the county with a DECA chapter, celebrating its 24th year. All students on the Marketing & Sales career pathway are DECA members. FHS offers a comprehensive marketing program, encompassing various classes such as Marketing Fundamentals, Digital Marketing, Strategic Marketing, Sports & Entertainment Marketing, and Fashion Merchandising. DECA, a co-curricular organization for high school students, focuses on entrepreneurship, marketing, finance, hospitality, and tourism. Guided by principles of academic and career preparation, professionalism, leadership, and community orientation, most Frankfort DECA members pursue college and careers in business and marketing. In early November, a majority of the chapter attended the Indiana DECA Fall Leadership Conference in Indianapolis. The chapter's annual community service project, DECA Backpack Buddies, has distributed over 50,000 weekend Buddy Bags to K-12 students. Strategic Marketing seniors operate DECA Cookies, a DECA Inc. and Otis Spunkmeyer recognized gold-certified school-based enterprise, with a sales goal of over 20,000 cookies this year. Senior students in Strategic Marketing will embark on a field trip to New York City from November 29th through December 3rd. This time of year is perfect for students to observe and analyze stores' holiday window displays and merchandising, in addition to visiting iconic landmarks and local businesses. This marks the fourth year of this annual trip. FHS DECA members are also preparing for district and state competitions in early 2024, with hopes of qualifying for the International DECA Career Development Conference in Anaheim, California. We encourage and invite the community to follow Frankfort DECA on Instagram and X/Twitter (@frankfortdeca) as well as on Facebook to keep up with the latest DECA news! -Amanda Graham-Bishop (Marketing Educator & FHS DECA Advisor)
