My name is Frances Burkhalter, and I have been working part or full time in education for over 25 years.  I started working as an aide at South Side and began taking classes at Indiana University in Kokomo shortly after that.  I  received my bachelor’s degree in 1999.  Since then, I have taught at Suncrest, Green Meadows, and Blue Ridge.

I live in Frankfort with my husband, Steve.   My hobbies are reading, sewing, and gardening.  We have two daughters and six grandchildren who have grown up much too quickly!  The youngest one will graduate from high school this year.

I have been the reading interventionist at Blue Ridge for several years.  This year brings a change.  I will be working with first graders helping them with both reading and math.  I’m eager to get started!  If you need to contact me you can call or email.

My name is Amy Perez, and I'm the kindergarten interventionist.  I was born and raised in Frankfort, and I'm so thankful for the opportunity to give back to the community that shaped my learning over the years.  I attended the University of Indianapolis. and upon graduation in 2005, I came back to teach at Kyger Elementary.  This is my 17th year teaching with the Community Schools of Frankfort, and I have served at Kyger, Green Meadows, Suncrest, and Blue Ridge in a variety of grade levels and roles.  

When I'm not at school, I'm busy with my four children Ellie (13), Maylie (11), William (8), and Lexie (5).  We enjoy attending events at each of their schools FMS, Green Meadows, and Blue Ridge.  My hobbies include teaching and attending group fitness classes like POUND, Strength, and Yoga.  I also love reading realistic fiction and inspirational books and shopping at local boutiques with my mom who is the Mayor of Frankfort!
